An “abusive” and “violent” medical professional who raped and abused two ladies over a 20-year duration has been imprisoned. Michael Lever was told he should serve a minimum of four-and-a-half years in jail and was also given a long-lasting constraint order. Among his victims had told a jury he was a “beast” while another said he threatened to kill her if she did not agree to his demands. Lever, 47, rejected the criminal activities but was founded guilty in October 2015. The attacks occurred between 1993 and 2013 in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayr and the Borders. Medical professionals in training will start taking part in the world’s biggest survey of postgraduate medical education later on today (March 24). The nationwide training study (NTS) includes more than 50,000 doctors and is seen as a crucial step of the quality of medical education and training in the UK. Lohn’s involvement also prompted a series of other hearings he was involved with being re-examined as the workings of the BHA’s Stability Department came under analysis. Rust said: ‘We apologise for the Matthew Lohn occurrence. He …
