The British Medical Association (BMA) has announced the outcomes of its tally of junior members in England and has confirmed that it will hold 3 days of commercial action in December. New GMC report highlights elements that affect progression of medical professionals in training

New information released by the General Medical Council (GMC) reports for the very first time on examination results and recruitment results for different groups of medical professionals across the UK. Among the findings   (pdf), women doctors were most likely to pass their tests or be offered a training post than guys. Ethnic minority medical professionals from UK medical schools did less well in recruitment and exams than their white counterparts, but much better than white physicians from a non-UK medical school. We will continue to examine all non ARF fees on a

regular basis to make sure we continue to recuperate our costs. Our Council has also concurred the fees for a new evaluation(₤ 1100)and the existing annual return (₤ 250) that doctors will need to finish to revalidate if they do not have a connection to an accountable policeman or appropriate person.
